My 5 picks

Now THIS
is the Arte y Pico award. And yes, surprisingly, I received one. Much too kind Kristin at Going Country is trying to bribe me into pressure canning and I think that's why she picked me. Or she likes really blurry pictures. But either way, a pity award is JUST as good as any award in my book. Or so I've always told myself. Check out the original site to find out about the award. Oh, and read Spanish if you go. I'd have YoungSon translate (he speaks German and Spanish - maybe he's not REALLY my kid, go figure) but he's fighting wildfire.

Anyway, I'm supposed to pass on the award to five blogs I love. Which is hard because I haven't done this long enough to really know how all of this works, but what the heck... "Live a little, Meadow" I always say.

So here are the rules -
1. Pick five (5) blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also for contributing to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. Each award has to have the name of the author and also a link to his or her blog to be visited by everyone.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name and link to the blog that has given her or him the award itself.

4. Award-winner and the one who has given the prize have to show the link of Arte y Pico blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award.

So... five. Um, any five. And I don't think I can pick Kristin again (the rules are just not clear enough for me) so here goes:

1) Sarah has me enchanted with the story of Tevis over at Frog Creek Cottage. Plus she cooks and sews and tonight I'm starting the overnight yeast waffle thingies. The hubby loves waffles, which I hate. Maybe this will change things!

2) Rob at Rob's World. He has a contest to win his balls. Um, seed balls. Yeah. Sorry for the confusion there :)

3. Over at Two Frog Home I get to see great pictures and plenty of odds and ends. Heck there's even a pantry link so I can see just how far behind I really am. Name of the author? Good heavens, how would I know. I see Katie, I see Kathie, and I'm just not good enough at going through these things yet to know for sure. So Katie/Kathie, please clear this up. And I'm sorry I've been aimlessly reading without really knowing what to call you :)

4. Another Katy, this one at the The Non-consumer Advocate is a constant reminder that I do not need to BUY. That 'affluenza' can be deadly. And the picture of the books in the header... delicious!

5. Robbyn (again, the name problem. I mean, I hope she really IS Robbyn!) at The Back Forty makes me feel a lot better about waiting til I'm 45 (birthday was last Sunday) to actually DO something. Glad to know not everybody is under 30. Whew!

So there they are. I'm not even sure whether most people will actually do this, but I'm looking forward to finding out. And thanks again Kristin.

Oh please--"pity award" indeed. Anyone who will post photos of radishes is my kind of blogger.

Thanks so much! it's an honor! It'll take me a few days to get it on my site since we're swamped right now, but just wanted to stop in and say thank you :)

Thank you, I'm honored as well. I look forward to reading your blog more in the future. My given name is Kathie and that's how most folks know me, my Jeff calls me Katie as does most of his family so I answer to either.
